Neither of these casts have been entirely successful. Foam over-expansion spit both- one by nearly 1/4 inch and the other by less. Still, this is enough to throw off the dynamic tension of the figure. The model had been a ballerina and was incredibly responsive to the weight of the ball- a good casting will show the balance she achieved with the weight pulling back and allowing her hips and head to push subtly forward. The tension achieved is like a strung bow. Neither of these castings capture this gesture and internal power, as the additional thickness of the figure shifts weight to the back and lessens the tension caused by the heavy ball.
